Not
all banks, savings and loans or credit unions offer
the ETA. Before an institution may offer the ETA to
its customers, it must enroll with the U.S. Treasury.
By enrolling, the institution becomes an ETA Provider
and it agrees to offer the ETA based upon the U.S.
Treasury's guidelines.
Once
you have found a provider in your area, you may talk
to someone at that institution to learn more about
the ETA and Direct Deposit.
To
open your account you should have the following:
 |
A
photo ID such as a driver's license or state identification
card that shows your current name and address.
|
 |
Your
Social Security number (card or award letter). |
 |
Claim
number for Veterans Affairs payments. |
You
may also wish to visit the ETA Provider with your
un cashed Federal check(s). Your check contains most
of the information to set up the type of account that
is right for you.
To
open an ETA or obtain more information, visit one
of the many ETA Providers today. You may click

Additionally,
some ETA Providers allow you to open, or begin to
open ETAs, through telephone enrollment. Click

that offers telephone enrollments.
